SITE SELECTION
- Moringa favors well-drained soil
- Ideally the rainfall should be within an annual range of 900 to 1300 mm
- Avoid soils with termite infestation.
LAND PREPARATION
- Slash and remove debris from the proposed field
- Plough and harrow the field to loosen the soil
- Spacing between plants should be:
- 2m by 2m for moringa seed harvest
- 2m by 1m for moringa leaf harvest.
- Dig holes 30 centimeters deep. For mixed cropping, the planting stations should be 4 meters apart or more depending on the type of crop to be planted
- Mix the soil with manure and fill it back into the pit.
