PEST AND DISEASE CONTROL
PEST AND DISEASE CONTROL
The common pests for Moringa tree are: spiders, termites and grasshoppers. For termites, it is recommended to:
- Apply Neem or Tephrosia (Fish Bean) solution to the soil
- Apply ashes around the base of seedlings
- The area between Moringa trees should be kept free from weeds at all times
- Hygiene is very key. All twigs and dead wood and grass should be removed between and around tree stations.
NB: Chemical Spraying or any use of any chemical material is not recommended for Moringa production unless in cases of high severity of pests and diseases. When using chemicals use recommended contact chemicals, which will not degrade the quality of the Moringa tree products.
