FERTILIZER APPLICATION

To obtain high yields and maximum returns from the money invested in fertilizers, farmers are strongly advised to base fertilizer application on soil test results. There are area specific fertilizer recommendations and you should consult the Extension Officer in your area.

Fertilizer should be applied 10 cm away from the planting station and 10 cm deep.

Fertilizer application distance

Basal fertilizer should be applied during planting or 5 to 7 days after planting. Top dressing fertilizer should be applied 3 to 4 weeks after planting.
