Wild animals and insects for bees and prevention

There some wild animals that affect bee farming such us:

Honey Badger

Place the hives 1m from the ground on 2 trees with 5 meters apart and cut all brunches bending to or touching the beehive.

Termites and Ants

• Smear the hanging wire with grease frequently.
• Disperse ash around the beehives
• Clean the surrounding area.

Wax moth

• Remove all un-functioning cobs
• Clean the top bars after harvesting.

Thieves

• Allow new members to join the bee keeping farming and allow everyone to participate in decision making
• Apiary should not be very far from dwelling place
• Frequent monitoring of the apiary.
