LAYERS AND BROILERS
LAYERS AND BROILERS
These are chickens whose main production is either eggs or meet.
CHICK RARING (BROODING)
Chicks after hatching need to be kept in warm kholas to prevent high mortalities.
Preparation for chick raring
- Clean the kholas and disinfect the khola with disinfectant
- Hung a brooder (heater) to provide adequate heat in the khola. If charcoal heaters then hung them on bricks
- Spread adequate dry litter on the khola’s floor
- Provide cool and clean drinking water in drinking trough appropriate for the chicks’ ages
- Feed them with chick mash
