Good housing is important since:
- They control parasites and diseases that attack goats
- The house protects goats from rain, wind and very hot sunlight
- They protect goats from theft and predators
- They facilitate easy collection of droppings for manure processing
Site Selection for House Construction
Site selection should be based on the following criteria:
- The house should be constructed close to dwelling house to avoid theft
- Construct on windward side to avoid foul smell
- Should be sited on land with a slight slope to enable some effective drainage
- Should not be constructed at a bushy area to avoid attacks by wild animals
