Agricultural Commodity Exchange for Africa (ACE) today joined Blantyre District Agriculture Office to showcase virtual-based agriculture extension methods, and innovations adopted by Blantyre District Council under the public sector reforms program. Blantyre DAO is promoting the use of Zaulimi app by extension officers as well as farmers. More than 130 extension workers were trained on how to use it and share it with farmers. The district has now more than two thousand Zaulimi app users. Speaking at the event the vice president of Malawi, Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima who is on a public sector reforms tour recommended the innovation and edged the media to help in spreading the word of such good innovations which can help Malawi move forward. Also present at the event were Farm Radio Trust and the Blantyre DAO who also showcased their digital platforms.
