RIDGES

• Land should be thoroughly ploughed to a depth of 25-30 cm so that the soil is loose

• Flat top ridges should be prepared so that the double rows can be planted.

• The ridges should have a flat top which is at least 30cm wide

• The distance from the center of one ridge to the center of the next ridge should be 75cm.

• The distance from the ridge trough to the ridge top should be 30cm.

The double rows should be 20cm apart on the flat topped ridge. The rows should be at least 5cm in from the edge of the ridge.
