AFLATOXIN CONTROL
Aflatoxin can be prevented by doing the following:

Plant good seed

Plant at recommended spacing to conserve moisture

Make box rigdes which assist in conserving moisture, moisture prevents occurrence of aflatoxin in groundnuts

Harvest and dry groundnuts in good time

Dry groundnuts in cool and dry place
-
Do not add water when shelling
-
Carry groundnuts in dry vessels and store in a dry place
-
Discard or burn all infected groundnuts and do not feed livestock with it.
Consult extension officers for more information on how to avoid aflatoxin in groundnuts.
