-
Thresh and remove all the trashes.
-
Store groundnuts in bags at cool and dry place to avoid aflatoxin
-
If the pods are to be stored longer, put in gunny bags and dust them with Actellic Super dust to protect the pods from various storage pests. Consult extension officer on how you can apply this chemical.
-
Place groundnut bags away from walls to allow air circulation and prevent contact of bags of groundnuts grain with the wall that might emit moisture.
-
Frequently Inspect if the groundnuts have been infected by pests
-
Protect groundnuts from rodents by using traps and keeping cats.
The storage facility should be clean and dry – inside as well as around the store house, well-ventilated, guarded against rodents and bird entry. It should have a roof that does not leak when it is raining, has no physical contaminants and is secure.
