• It is important to keep groundnut fields free of weeds

• Weed at least twice: about 20 days and 50 days after planting

• During pegging, only hand weeding should be done to avoid damage to developing pods

• Herbicides, if used properly, are safe and effective in controlling weeds in groundnuts.

• Put on protective wear when applying chemicals

• Cultural practices can have a tremendous influence on the type and severity of weed problems e.g Crop rotation, tillage system, livestock wintering, and other field-management practices.
