Planting on the ridge should be done on two rows spaced on each side of ridge at approximately 20 cm apart and placing one seed per planting station 5 cm apart and 2.5 cm deep.You can also plant two seeds at per planting station at 10cm apart.

Flat planting should be done on rows spaced at 45cm apart and 5cm between stations.

In both cases the required seed rate is 80 to 100 kg per hectare depending on seed size.

Soybean Varieties

Makwacha, Nasoko, Tikolole and Serenade. Tikolole does not require inoculant.

Under good management yield is between 1000 to 1200 kg / Acre. Consult the extension officer for varieties suitable for your area.
